Pond-Revive Bottom Sludge Digester
Pond-Revive digester reduces organic bottom deposits that are the source of excess problem causing nutrients in the water (such as Ammonia, urea, nitrites, and phosphates). This bottom sludge
is the source of the fertility that feeds weed and algae growth. The digester also reduces odors associated with all types of organic waste in ponds.
- Reduces Organic Waste
- Reduces Odor
- Improves Water Quality
- Stabilizes Oxygen Swings
- Reverses over fertile conditions
- Reduces nutrients that feed excessive algae growth
Pond-Revive is not harmful to humans, fish, animals, or plants.
Pond-Revive is available in either liquid or pucks. The pucks are packaged in pails of 60-65 pucks (10 lb.). Smaller quantities are available. These pellets dissolve quickly, which allows an
easy one step application. Just toss the required number of pellets directly into the pond water into the area being treated.
Pond-Revive liquid is more difficult to apply but it is more active and economical as it contains more active bacteria. There is also a growing solution that can be used to effectively double
the bacteria thus reducing costs even further. The liquid is less convenient but the added effort produces much better results.
Applying Pond-Revive Pellets
- Water temperature should be above 50° F (it is usually this temperature in the midwest by the last week of April). Check the temperature shortly after dawn.
- Calculate the size of the pond: Length of Pond (In Feet) X Width of Pond (In Feet) divided by 43,560 sq. ft. = Total Surface Acres
- Apply 14-20 pucks per surface acre of water (1 per 2200 sq. ft.) the first application.
- Apply 7-10 pucks per surface acre (1 per 4400 sq. ft.) every 4 weeks thereafter, or as needed in problem areas.
- Aeration should be used in conjunction with the Pond-Revive program to avoid low oxygen problems.
The initial application of Pond-Revive liquid is at the rate of 3 parts per million (ppm), which is then followed up with 1 PPM, weekly for best results, then biweekly to monthly as needed for
to maintain water quality.

- Calculate the size of the pond: Length of Pond (In Feet) X Width of Pond (In Feet) divided by 43,560 sq. ft. = Total Surface Acres which is aproximately equivalent to the bottom area being
treated.
- Start-up: apply 3 PPM in a large container of pond water (this assures good distribution) and apply through a tube or hose into the bottom of the pond.
- Follow-up: apply 1 PPM weekly in the same manner until acceptable water quality is achieved.
- Maintenance: apply 1 PPM bi-weekly or monthly as needed in the same manner to maintain water quality.
- Aeration should be used in conjunction with the Pond-Revive program to avoid low oxygen problems.
1 PPM is equivalent to 1 gallon to 1,000,000 gallons. One acre one foot deep is aproximately 326,000 gallons so three acre feet would be nearly 1,000,000 (978,000) gallons. At 1
PPM 1 gallon will treat 3 acres, and 3 PPM would be 1 gallon to 1 acre. Since the digester is being applied on the bottom, only area is used for the calculation.

The purpose of the growing solution is to bring the suspended bacteria out of dormancy. This causes the bacteria to multiply and stimulates them to maximum effectiveness for consuming bottom
sludge.
- Enhances the effectiveness of Pond-Revive liquid
- Lowers the cost of using liquid digestion product for sludge consumption
- Increases the quantity of active bacteria
Directions for Using the Growing Solution
- The activation process takes 24 hours to prepare and must be used within 12 hours after preparation.
- Mix 12 parts bacteria with 1 part grow solution and 87 parts of non-chlorinate water (1/3 cup Growing Solution + 1 qt. Pond-Revive + 21 gal water. Water measurement does not have to
be precise, so four five-galllon buckets of water in a large trash can will work well.
- It is necessary to apply the entire 21 gals to equal 1/2 gal of unactivated solution)
- Aerate for twenty-four hours with a fine bubble air diffuser such as an aquarium air pump and air stone.
- Best results are achieved when the mixture is prepared at around 75 degrees F.
- Apply to the pond in the same manner as unactivated product.
- The bacteria activated with the growing solution is effectively doubled.
