The individual illustrations are not proportional to the other illustrations on a page. Some of the illustrations show algae magnified hundreds of times while others would be visible to the naked eye. The categories as listed are generalizations. There is much overlap. Most all of these algae types can be found in large bodies of water. These images are provided for your enjoyment. You are welcome to use them as you wish, but please credit the original source.
